Innovative Safety Features for Underground Operations 

SAHR Emergency Braking System 

The SAHR (Spring Actuated, Hydraulic Release) Emergency Braking system was not previously available for Ranger and was developed by our Brake Supplier, especially for these vehicles. The brake upgrade required replacing the rear drive shafts and brake hubs, installing a control system, and a separate hydraulic pump system to provide the braking power. The system includes an emergency stop button that cuts the engine and locks the wheels in the event that the button is pushed.

Minesite Package

The Ford Ranger Minesite Vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive Mining Package designed for safety and efficiency. It includes essential features like a wrap-around bull bar, heavy-duty seat covers, reflective decals, and a battery isolation switch, alongside a control panel that manages the emergency brake and hydraulic system. With 13 plug-and-play electrical harnesses, it ensures seamless operation of key systems, including spotlights, alarms, and two-way radio power, all controlled from the driver’s seat for convenience and safety.

Built to Withstand Fire and Debris 

Fire Suppression System & Kevlar Floor Protection

The Ford Ranger Minesite Vehicle is equipped with an Ansul Automatic Fire Suppression system for early fire detection and rapid response, deploying dry powder to extinguish fires at the source—an essential feature for underground operations. Additionally, its Kevlar Floor Protection, made from 12 layers of Kevlar, shields the vehicle from damage and penetration by sharp debris commonly found in mining environments, ensuring long-lasting durability and safety.
